Asus Releases Celeron Run Eee Box B203

In an expected move Asus has added the new Intel Celeron powered Eee Box B203 to its “nettop” line.

The new Eee Box B203 is technically the same as the Eee Box B202, except that the B203 is powered by an Intel C220 Celeron processor instead of the Intel Atom chip used in the B202.

This change will make the B203 just a tad cheaper, and it will also save more Atom chips for Asus to use in their portable netbook line.

The Asus nettops are aimed at consumers who want a low power desktop alternative. The Eee Box B203 runs Windows XP Home, and can be configured with either an 80, 120, or 160GB hard drive. Four USB ports are built in as well as a flash reader and Wi-Fi making it a perfect for anyone with simple computing needs.

The computer also has an innovative feature adveristed on the website where it can be attached to the back of a monitor making it almost an “all-in-one.” I am actually considering buying this as a low profile computer dedicated to surfing the web and listening to music. Everything looks perfect except for the atrocious graphics on the case, but besides that it’s a winner.
