Eee Keyboard

Asus has let word out on its Eee keyboard which is basically a multimedia PC that is built into a keyboard with a small secondary touchscreen embedded in it. They have not said if it will be released to the public anytime soon, if ever, but from what it looks like, it seems like the perfect home theater tool. The HDMI completes the deal for an amazing home entertainment PC.

Asus Releases Celeron Run Eee Box B203

In an expected move Asus has added the new Intel Celeron powered Eee Box B203 to its “nettop” line.

The new Eee Box B203 is technically the same as the Eee Box B202, except that the B203 is powered by an Intel C220 Celeron processor instead of the Intel Atom chip used in the B202.

This change will make the B203 just a tad cheaper, and it will also save more Atom chips for Asus to use in their portable netbook line.

The Asus nettops are aimed at consumers who want a low power desktop alternative. The Eee Box B203 runs Windows XP Home, and can be configured with either an 80, 120, or 160GB hard drive. Four USB ports are built in as well as a flash reader and Wi-Fi making it a perfect for anyone with simple computing needs.

The computer also has an innovative feature adveristed on the website where it can be attached to the back of a monitor making it almost an “all-in-one.” I am actually considering buying this as a low profile computer dedicated to surfing the web and listening to music. Everything looks perfect except for the atrocious graphics on the case, but besides that it’s a winner.

The Hype On Netbooks

The Hype On Netbooks

You’ve probably heard the term “netbook” thrown around a bit within the last year, but why is it so important, and what are they?

A netbook is simply a small, portable, low end computer that was made with simple computing tasks in mind. Simple computing tasks means surfing the internet, writing emails, and streaming music. In reality this is probably all that 90% of people do on a computer, but don’t quote me on that.

So why are they so important? The “Netbook Revolution” if you will shows that computer manufacturers are finally realizing what most people use computers for, and they are building specialized products for those tasks. Before netbooks were around, you would have to buy a mid to high end computer just to have wireless internet. This would have set you back around $500. Now an Eee PC 2G Surf which will do the same tasks such as surfing the internet just as well will set you back only $240.

So for the holiday season, if you are looking into getting a laptop for someone who uses their computers lightly consider a netbook. The Eee PC line by Asus is both reputable and fairly cheap. Some recommended netbooks are listed below:

Asus:

Dell:
